As part of the Temporary Out of Training (TOT) Program, eight unemployed apprentices attend a 6-week full-time course, the second year of the Electrical Mechanics Apprenticeship course normally conducted over one year. The program was initiated by Gordon Gray and Neil Coote of the Industrial Training Commission. Six Swinburne instructors adapted the TAFE syllabus so the required theory and practice could be taught on a full-time basis. |
