The photographs in this collection are almost all historical photographs relating to Swinburne in its various manifestations from its early years into the 2000s. A few of the images are of the local area, Hawthorn. The earliest pictures in the archive are about ninety years old, the latest from the 1980s. The collection is divided into twenty-six sections, and these include photographs documenting the physical Hawthorn campus, and the staff and students engaged in social activities, sporting activities, and official functions.
